Racing Classes
As a Motorcycling Australia affiliated club, HEAVEN VMX race meetings are run under MA rules and guidelines. The HVMX racing classes are aligned strongly with the General Competition Rules defined by the Manual of Motorcycle Sport. The rules for Classic MX and Dirt Track are defined here. Pre 1965 Class
All mx/enduro and trail bikes manufactured prior to 31st December 1964. This class will be all powers inclusive.
Pre 1970 Class
All mx/enduro and trail bikes manufactured prior to 31st December 1969. This class will be all powers inclusive.
Pre 1975 Class
All mx/enduro and trail bikes manufactured prior to 31st December 1974. This class will cater for 125cc, 250cc and 500cc.
Pre 1978 Class
All mx/enduro and trail bikes manufactured prior to 31st December 1977. This class will cater for 125cc, 250cc and 500cc.
Evolution Class ( Evo)
All mx, enduro and trail bikes that were originally manufactured with a air cooled engine, drum brakes, twin shocks or non-linkage cantilever rear suspension. No later components (e.g. Power valve cylinders, upside down or cartridge forks, etc) can be adapted. There are no wheel travel limits, year cut off dates or performance indexing. Classes catered for are 125cc, 250cc and 500cc.
Pre 1985 Class
All mx, enduro and trail bikes that were manufactured prior to 31st December 1984 and designated a 1984 or earlier model. These bikes may have disc brakes, water cooling and linkage rear suspension. Classes catered for 125cc, 250cc and 500cc.
Four Stroke Class
All four stroke mx, enduro and trail motorcycles manufactured prior to 31st December 1984 are eligible. Linkage suspension, disc brakes and water cooling are allowed. There will be no separate classes for this era, only an ALL POWERS race. There will be a separate point score for this class. Ladies Class This is an all powers class event. Riders can ride bikes of any era from pre 65 to pre 85. There will be a separate point score for this class.
50 & Over Class
All senior classes will have a “50 & over” class, to be scored separately where there are sufficient entrants to constitute a race (3 or more). To be eligible for the 50 & Over class you must have turned 50 prior to the first race meeting of the year.
Juniors
Heaven caters for 12 to 16 year olds. Juniors must attain the age of 12 before they can race. Juniors may ride 80cc, 85cc, or 125cc two stroke only. Note : No 250cc four strokes are eligible for junior classes. Four strokes under 160 cc are only permitted to ride on natural terrain motocross (no man made jumps) .ie Grass track. There will be a separate point score for this class.
